Analysis: German EU presidency brings ‘sigh of relief’ to coronavirus-ravaged Europe
As Germany prepares to take on the six-month rotating presidency of the European Union, FRANCE 24’s international affairs editor Philip Turle says many European countries badly affected by the coronavirus outbreak are breathing a sigh of relief.
Germany has been comparatively less affected by the Covid-19 crisis, suffering 9,000 deaths compared to 30,000 in France, and 40,000 in the United Kingdom.
