European elections 2019: What future for Europe?

Making election predictions can be a risky business, but there is likely to be a big shake-up in the European political spectrum after the EU-wide parliament vote at the end of May. The spokesman of Germany’s far-right Alternative Für Deutschland recently said he hopes the results will teach some “self-doubt” in Brussels. Meanwhile, many environmentalists are hoping that recent school strikes and the London “Extinction Rebellion” protests will bring a so-called “green wave” into the parliament.
