Merkel questioned about coronavirus response
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that the country must not jeopardize the progress it’s made in containing the coronavirus by moving too quickly to lift restrictions.
In parliament, the Chancellor faced questions on the economic impact of the disease as well as on conditions for seasonal workers, after a large coronavirus outbreak at a slaughterhouse. Germany is now emerging from a nearly two-month lockdown. But Merkel warned the country would be living with the disease for some time to come.
