New Popular Front PM candidate Lucie Castets seeks to garner public favour
French leftist coalition the New Popular Front’s latest nominee for Prime Minister Lucie Castets is looking to win the people’s approval as she campaigned in the northern city of Lille Saturday. Previously unknown to the public, the 37-year-old is a senior civil servant and has worked at the General Directorate of the Treasury and Tracfin, the anti-money laundering unit of the Finance Ministry. President Macron, however, has refused to appoint a new PM until after the Summer Games.
