President Biden vows to ‘turn peril into possibility’ at joint session of Congress
US President Joe Biden has given an address at his first joint session in Congress, outlining the achievements of first 100 days in office. Stating that ‘America is on the move again’, he credited the rollout of vaccines to tackle to coronavirus pandemic, with more 220m jabs given. He said the American Rescue Plan had cut child poverty in half and called on Congress to improve provisions under the Affordable Health Act. The President said that when he took office, less than 1% of senior citizens were fully vaccinated but now that figure was nearly 70%.
