Renewable energy: France’s biogas sector is booming
A decade after its creation, anaerobic digestion is flourishing in France. This method consists in breaking down organic matter to produce biogas, a renewable energy source. The sector already produces the equivalent of the energy capacity of a nuclear reactor, and this will likely be doubled by 2025. A key part of France’s strategy for energy sovereignty and its ecological transition, biogas is showing considerable promise.
