Trump survives impeachment: President cleared of all charges

After months of questions and weeks of debate, Donald Trump was cleared of the charges against him in just half an hour.

America’s Senate found him not guilty of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress – his opponents way off the margin they needed to convict.

It means the end of his impeachment and he can remain in power.

The next verdict on him in this bitterly polarised country will be delivered by the voters.
