Turkey agrees to ceasefire in Syria

Turkey has agreed to a ceasefire in northern Syria to allow Kurdish forces to withdraw.

The announcement was made by the US Vice President Mike Pence who was in Turkey to try to broker an end to the conflict which began when American forces withdrew.

Donald Trump said the deal would save “millions of lives” but in Turkey it’s being hailed as a total victory.
