Commission due to adopt new measures to reinforce protection for European depositors and further reduce banking risks

Subject to adoption by the College of Commissioners, Commissioner Jonathan Hill will come to the European Parliament’s press room in Strasbourg at 14:00 CET to present a legislative proposal for a euro area-wide insurance scheme for bank deposits and measures to reduce remaining risks in the banking sector.
