Commission takes note of upcoming Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy

Thee European Commission will today further contribute to the ongoing consultations for the upcoming Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy that High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission Federica Mogherini is preparing at the request of the June 2015 European Council. Today’s discussion will be another important step in the process, following an orientation debate, a specific College Seminar and a meeting of the Commissioners’ Group for External Action held on the same issue over the past months. Following a wide consultation process that also includes other European Union Institutions, Member States as well as the foreign policy community, civil society and general public, the High Representative will finalise the Strategy in view of its presentation in the coming weeks, as requested by the European Council.
