Commissioner Bieńkowska on mission to Berlin to discuss the Single Market Strategy
Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska, responsible for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, will be on her first official visit to Germany on 5 and 6 November. The overall focus of her meetings in Berlin will be to present and discuss the Single Market Strategy and the modernisation of industry. The state of play of investigations into the Volkswagen emissions case will also be discussed. On Thursday 5 November, she will meet Mr Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Mr Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, and Mr Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand, and deliver a speech on the Single Market at the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. On Friday 6 November, the Commissioner will have an exchange of views with the members of the Committee on Economic affairs and Energy at the German Bundestag; and meet Mr Markus Kerber, Managing Director of the German Federation of Industry (BDI).
