Commissioner Breton in Madrid, Spain, to discuss industry, digital, defence and space issues

Today and tomorrow Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton, will be in Madrid to discuss important topics for the European economy, such as industry, digital, defence and space issues. Commissioner Breton will exchange views with the Spanish parliament’s Joint Committee for the EU and Industry. He will meet with Ms Nadia Calviño, Vice President for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Mr Pedro Duque, Minister for Science and Innovation, Ms Reyes Maroto Illera, Minister for Industry, as well as Ms Margarita Robles, Minister of Defence. The Commissioner will also participate in the debate organised by El País “Future Europe: Digital Economy, Industry and Defence”, where he will present the recently adopted strategies for data and Artificial Intelligence, and discuss the EU’s priorities in the area of industrial policy, space and defence.
