Commissioner Johansson to participate in the Mediterranean Dialogues on migration
Tomorrow, 26 November, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, will participate in the virtual Rome MED Dialogues (Mediterranean Dialogues), an annual initiative organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies. Commissioner Johansson will join Luciana Lamorgese, Minister of Interior of Italy, António Vitorino, Director-General of International Organization for Migration (IOM), Evarist Bartolo, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Malta, Anže Logar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Omer Gamar-Eldin Ismail, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, and Fathi Bashagha, the Minister of Interior and Government of National Accord of Libya. The event aims to discuss cooperation on migration at bilateral, regional and multilateral level. The event will also be an opportunity to discuss the proposals presented in the Commission’s New Pact on Migration and Asylum that focus on promoting tailor-made and mutually beneficial partnerships between the EU and its partners.
