Commissioner Navracsics at Education, Training and Youth Forum to discuss implementation of the New Skills Agenda for Europe
Tomorrow, Commissioner Navracsics will give a keynote speech during the Opening Panel of the Commission’s annual Education, Training and Youth Forum, whichtakes place on 20-21 October in Brussels. Ahead of the event, Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, said: “Education is the best investment in Europe’s young citizens. It makes people employable throughout their lives and enables them to become engaged, independent citizens by making the most of their talents. The European Commission, through policy cooperation and its programme Erasmus+, has a vital role to play in supporting countries as they strive to improve the key competences, skills and educational attainment of their citizens.” The Education, Training and Youth Forum brings together around 400 participants from 33 countries participating in the Erasmus+ programmefor education and training.They will discuss how best to deliver on the New Skills Agenda for Europe, which the Commission presented on 10 June 2016. Three panels and twelve workshops will cover a wide range of issues and include the first public discussion on the upcoming review of the 2006 Recommendation on Key Competences for lifelong learning. Webstreaming of the panels will be available from 9:30-12.30 (20 October) and 11.30-13.00 (21 October).
