Commissioner Schmit in Copenhagen and Stockholm to consult with governments and social partners
Commissioner Nicolas Schmit, in charge of Jobs and Social Rights, will be in Copenhagen, Denmark tomorrow, Thursday, 12 December. He will start his visit at socially innovative company Specialisterne, where he will take part in a discussion on making the European labour market more inclusive. He will then meet with a wide range of interlocutors, including Mr Peter Hummelgaard, Minister for Employment, representatives of the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs and Employment Committees, representatives of Danish trade-union 3F, the Confederation of Danish Employers and the Danish Trade Union Confederation. On Friday, 13 December, the Commissioner will be in Stockholm, Sweden for a series of meetings, including with Ms Eva Nordmark, Minister for Employment, Mr Ardalan Shekarabi, Minister for Social Security, and Mr Joakim Palme, Professor at Uppsala University. The Commissioner will also take the opportunity to meet Swedish trade unions LO, TCO and SACO and representatives from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, and the Swedish Agency for Government Employers.
