Commissioners Kyriakides, Johansson and Lenarčič at Justice and Home Affairs Ministers meeting tomorrow
Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, and Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, will take part in the Justice and Home Affairs Council taking place in Brussels tomorrow, 13 March. Commissioner Johansson will join Home Affairs Ministers for an exchange of views on the Council’s strategic guidelines in the area of freedom, security and justice. The meeting will continue with a discussion on migration, following up on last week’s extraordinary meeting of Home Affairs Ministers during which the Commission presented an Action Plan for immediate measures to support Greece in managing the extraordinary situation at the external borders. Over lunch, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides will join Commissioner Johansson, Commissioner Lenarčič and Home Affairs Ministers to discuss civil protection and the EU’s health response in the context of the current COVID-19 outbreak. A press conference with Commissioner Johansson and Commissioner Lenarčič will take place after the meeting at +/- 15:15 CET and will be streamed live on EbS+.
