Competition: EU and India reinforce cooperation on competition policy at third EU-India Competition Week
Officials and experts from the EU and India will meet online from 10 to 14 December to advance cooperation and exchange practical experiences on case handling and enforcement in competition policy. The technical discussions will touch upon a wide range of topics, including the use of forensic tools in competition investigations, experiences with competition investigations in digital markets, and with designing and negotiating merger remedies. This third EU-India Competition Week follows the inaugural Competition Week organised in 2018 and the second one in 2019, and builds on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of competition law signed between DG Competition and the Competition Commission of India on 21 November 2013. The EU-India Competition Week is part of the Competition Cooperation project, a 5-year EU-funded programme offering technical cooperation to competition authorities in Asia. The objective is to exchange experiences and strengthen convergence in competition policy to the benefit of citizens and businesses in both the EU and Asia. More information about the European Commission’s bilateral dialogue with India in the field of competition policy is available on the Commission’s website.
