Committees (21-22 December)
Uber. Transport Committee MEPs will debate the social, economic and legal implications of transport networking companies like Uber. Participants will include Uber’s Head of Policy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, delegates from the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF), and International Road Union (IRU) and senior Commission officials. (Monday)
Circular economy. The various items of legislation in the Commission’s proposed “circular economy” package will be debated by the Environment Committee. In a December plenary debate, MEPs generally welcomed the draft rules, but nevertheless criticised those on waste recycling, reducing food waste and landfill for aiming too low. (Monday)
Holiday recess
Parliament’s offices will be closed from 23 December until 4 January.
Committee and political group meetings resume on 11 January.
