On Monday, Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis and USTR Tai will kick off the first-ever Trade and Labour Dialogue, together with labour and business representatives. This will be followed by the TTC Ministerial Discussion which will focus on geopolitical challenges, the digital economy and the priority areas for 2023. Over a working lunch, the participants will discuss the Inflation Reduction Act and mutually supportive sustainable trade and supply chains. Finally, they will hold a stakeholder event with representatives of academia, industry associations and civil society. At 14:30 (20:30 CET) there will be a press conference which will be livestreamed here.
The EU and the US launched the TTC at their summit in Brussels on 15 June 2021. The TTC serves as a forum for the EU and the US to coordinate approaches to address key trade and technology issues, and to deepen transatlantic cooperation in this realm based on shared democratic values. 10 working groups were set up covering issues such as standards, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, export controls and global trade challenges.
