Agriculture and Fisheries Council, 23 September 2024

The Agriculture and Fisheries Council will meet in Brussels on 23 September 2024.

Fisheries ministers will hold a discussion on the upcoming EU-UK and EU-Norway and coastal states annual consultations on fishing opportunities for the coming year.

As far as agriculture is concerned, the Council will hold an exchange of views focusing on the markets situation, and will discuss the implementation of the CAP (common agricultural policy) strategic plans.

General Affairs Council, 24 September 2024

Ministers will hear a presentation on the priorities of the Hungarian presidency and start preparations for the October European Council. They will also discuss the general trends of the rule of law situation in the EU and in selected candidate countries.

Competitiveness Council (Internal market and industry), 26 September 2024

Ministers responsible for the internal market and industry will meet in Brussels and will hold three policy debates: the future of European competitiveness, the state aid framework, and SMEs and the benefits of the single market. They will also discuss e-commerce, as requested by the German delegation, and priorities for the single market, at the request of the Czech and Luxembourg delegations.
