High-level conference to weigh up EU and international work on Artificial Intelligence
Experts, policy-makers and members of the European and international communities will meet during a high-level conference on AI in Slovenia on 14-15 September. Organised by the European Commission and the Slovenian Presidency of the European Council, this event will address how to bring policymaking efforts from ambition to action and turn Europe into a global hub for trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will feature interviews with Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market, as well as introductory remarks from Boštjan Koritnik, Minister of Public Administration in Slovenia and Mark Boris Andrijanič, Minister of Digital Transformation. This high-level event dedicated to AI follows the Commission’s proposed new rules and actions for excellence and trust in Artificial Intelligence in April this year. The conference will give the opportunity for an open forum of discussions on the AI regulation proposal, with a focus on standardisation, governance, liability and international cooperation. To this end, an international outreach initiative, InTouchAI.eu, for a human-centric approach to AI will be officially launched. InTouchAI.eu will aim to support and promote the EU’s vision on sustainable and trustworthy AI worldwide. Part of the conference will focus on the uptake and innovation of AI, with sessions on AI and green, financing, as well as education and skills. Registrations are still open for those interested in attending the event online.
