Seventh European Migration Forum: Youth integration key to migration
The seventh edition of the European Migration Forum takes place this week on 20 and 21 October. The Forum is a platform for discussion on migration, organised jointly by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee. This year, the Forum will facilitate discussions on migrant youth inclusion and mobility. Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson and the President of the European Economic and Social Committee, Christa Schweng will join for the second day of the event, which will be livestreamed here. Commissioner Johansson will highlight the joint response by the EU and Member States to accommodate Ukrainian refugees, as good practice on youth integration. Young speakers with migrant background, media representatives and youth-led organisations will also contribute with their perspectives in workshops and debates. Representatives of the Commission, the Council Presidency and the Committee of the Regions will take part in discussions with civil society organisations from Europe and beyond. Since 2015, the European Migration Forum has been providing a platform for dialogue between organisations and EU institutions to exchange views.
