Statement by the HR on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/1188 of 19 June 2023 amending Decision 2014/386/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol

On 19 June 2023, the Council adopted Decision 2023/1188 amending Decision 2014/386/CFSP.

The Council Decision extends the existing restrictive measures until 23 June 2024.
The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the potential candidate country Georgia, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
