Treaty of Nice turns 20!

In December 2000, leaders met in the French city of Nice to prepare the EU institutions for the planned enlargement. After no less than… 90 hours of talks, the Treaty of Nice was born! It was officially signed in February 2001 and came into effect in February 2003. Twenty years later, the Nice Summit still holds the record of the longest summit ever!
