Vice-President Šefčovič in Moscow tomorrow
Tomorrow Friday, Vice-President for the Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič will be in Moscow where he is meeting Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak. Tomorrow’s talks will focus on EU-Russia energy relations. “Building the Energy Union is a project that also concerns our neighbours. Russia is a particularly important neighbour of the European Union. Energy Union brings us closer together. Also with Ukraine: We believe that beyond 2019, Ukraine should play a crucial role as a transit country for Russian gas being exported to the European Union. The EU is a reliable customer to Russia: we pay in hard currency and on time. We want to continue to buy gas from Russia”, said Vice-President Šefčovič ahead of the visit.
