Algirdas Saudargas is a Lithuanian politician and a Member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy as well as a substitute Member of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. He also served as a Member of the Parliament of Lithuania and was appointed several times as a Foreign Minister throughout the 1990s. He was Chair of the Lithuanian Christian Democrat Party between 1995 and 1999. From 2004 until 2008 he was the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Holy See. In 1992, together with nine other Baltic Ministers of Foreign Affairs and an EU Commissioner, Algiras Saudargas founded the Council of the Baltic Sea States and the EuroFaculty.
