Danuta Maria Hubner is a Polish economist and politician of the European People Party (EPP), Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and member of Conference of Committee Chairs, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect as well as of the Delegation for relations with the United States. Danuta Hübner has played a key role in the enlargement of the EU and became the first Polish member of the European Commission in charge of the EU Regional Policy. Previously, her activities as a politician in Poland included, among others, the roles of Minister for European Affairs, Head of Office of the Committee for European Integration, Secretary of State for Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade.
