Dr Samuele Furfari achieved a PhD in energy studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1982. From then to 2018, he served as a Senior Official in energy policy in DG Energy in the European Commission, pioneering the strategic direction of EU Energy Policy. In parallel, he was Professor in Energy Policy and Geopolitics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and currently teaches at the ESCP Business School in London. He is a Knight of the Order of Merit of Poland. He is author of many papers and 18 books, his most recent being “Energy Insecurity – The Organized Destruction of European Competitiveness”.
