Hildegard Bentele is an MEP of the European People’s Party Group from Germany. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE). Before being elected as a Member of the European Parliament, she worked for the German Federal Foreign Office. Previously she had been a Member of Berlin’s State Parliament and had been working as a Foreign Policy Advisor to the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. She holds a degree in political science, history and public law from the University of Heidelberg and furthered her political science studies at Sciences Po and the Free University of Berlin.
