Jaya Ratnam is currently Singapore’s Ambassador to Belgium, accredited to Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the European Union. Jaya Ratnam has served various capacities in Europe, Southeast Asia, and International Organisations, International Economics and Consular Directorates. He has also served at Singapore’s Missions in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and to the United Nations in Geneva. Jaya Ratnam has served as Director-General of the Consular Directorate and was High Commissioner to Negara Brunei Darussalam prior to his current appointment. He received the Public Administration Award (Silver) in 2012. Jaya Ratnam graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts and subsequently obtained a master’s in International Public Policy from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, USA.
