Jean-Luc Gal has been seconded to the European Commission by the European Patent Office as of April 2013 onwards and he is in charge of some patent-related issues within the Industrial Property Unit. Previously, Jean-Luc had also been acting as the Head of the Liaison Office of the European Patent Office in Brussels. Over the period 2000-2004, he was a national expert seconded by the French National Office of Industrial Property to the European Union, as well as to the French Permanent Representation in Brussels. Jean-Luc Gal has written several articles on various issues such as patents, computer-implemented inventions and legal protection of biotechnological inventions.
