Zachary Kilhoffer is a multidisciplinary researcher currently working on his PhD in information science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Zackary holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Webster University in Vienna and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations and Affairs from the McKendree University in Illinois. He previously worked at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), where he spent the majority of this time researching platform work. Between 2017 and early 2021, he authored or co-authored 16 papers and one book chapter on platform work. Two of his papers – “Study to gather evidence on the working conditions of platform workers” and “Digital Labour Platforms in the EU: Mapping and Business Models”, are cited in the EU’s Proposed Directive on Improving Working Conditions in Platform Work.
