Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova is the coordinator of the “SEE 2020 Strategy” and heads the “SEE 2020” coordination unit within the Regional Cooperation Council. In addition, she coordinates the activities of the Regional Cooperation Council within the framework of the multi-annual action plan for the Western Balkans economic region, supported by the “WB6” Prime Ministers. Previously, she worked as an expert on inclusive growth and connectivity working on various regional cooperation initiatives in several areas such as digital economy, transport, energy, environment and employment. Her professional career has been mainly dedicated to the EU enlargement process. Indeed, Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova has ten years of experience in coordinating the use of EU funds in a national administration and was an advisor for the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to the EU.
