Maria da Graça Carvalho is a Member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) and ITRE Vice-Coordinator for the EPP. Maria Carvalho also served as an Adviser to the former European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Carlos Moedas, as well as a Principal Adviser to Commission President Barroso in the areas of Science, Innovation, Research, Energy and Environment. Previously, she was Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education of Portugal and Director-General of GRICES-Office for International Relations in Science and Higher Education. Maria Carvalho is a Professor at the Technical University of Lisbon and she is Chair of the Knowledge for Innovation (K4I) Forum in the European Parliament.
