Marian-Jean Marinescu has been an MEP since January 2007 and he is currently the Coordinator of the EPP Group for transport policies, the Vice-Chair of the ENVI Committee and the Chair of the European Parliament’s Sky and Space Intergroup. During the past legislatures, Marian-Jean Marinescu has been Vice-President of the EPP Group, Chair of the EPP Working Group “Budgets and Structural Policies”, Coordinator of the EPP working group for the Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF) 2021-2027 and member of the Board of Directors of the European Agency for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GSA). In 2020, Marian-Jean Marinescu was awarded as “MEP of the Year” for tourism and transport for his contribution to transport policy. Marian-Jean Marinescu also won the same prize in 2014 and 2016 for his activity in the research and innovation domains. In addition, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) awarded him in 2017 the “Personality of the Year” award in aviation, while the Future Business Conference (Austria) awarded him the “Red Arrow” award for essential commitment to Europe.
