Mikael Shamim holds a Master degree in commercial engineering (UAntwerp & JWGU) and an MBA (SDA Bocconi & Columbia GSB). In the first part of his career path, he worked as a Management Consultant and as an Executive for both Toyota and Kärcher. In the last ten years, he has focused his interest in the healthcare sector where he leads a hospital and elderly care group and has launched the medical aviation company Helicus in 2016. Helicus brings together his two passions, namely aviation and healthcare. The aim of the company is to co-create an integrated automated system with multi-sectorial partners from medical professionals to aviation experts. The company also contributes to the creation of a safe, harmonised and socially beneficial airspace through its participation in large scale EU and regional projects related to unmanned aviation.
