Pedro Velasco-Martins has been an employee of the European Commission since 1996. He has been a member of the Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Trade since January 2018 and is responsible for following the work of, among others, the WTO, G7, G20 and OECD. He also covers intellectual property law and EU banking, finance, investment and competitiveness policies. Previously, he was Deputy Head of Unit responsible for the European Commission’s trade policy related to intellectual property and public procurement and worked in the area of trade defence instruments. Before joining the Commission, Mr Velasco-Martins was a lawyer at the Lisbon Bar.
