Stefano Signore has been Head of Unit of the European Commission’s Migration and Employment Department since 2015. During his 18 years at the European Commission, as Head of Unit in the Directorate General for Justice, Freedom and Security, he oversaw the areas of migration, asylum, external borders and visa policy, organised crime and police cooperation in the Directorate General for Home Affairs (2010-2015). Between 2004 and 2008, he assisted the Vice-President of the European Commission for Justice, Freedom and Security, Franco Frattini.
