Szymon Polak is the First Secretary of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union. After studying political sciences and international relations, he graduated from the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw and joined the Polish civil service as a Chief Specialist for energy policies in the Office of the Committee for European Integration. In 2010 he was appointed as Head of the Energy Policy Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2012 onwards, Szymon Polak is responsible for external dimension of energy policy and shale gas issues for the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU.
