Thierry Lucas is an expert in European and international policy on environment and sustainable development. He is a Senior Programme Officer in the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Brussels Office, working on a variety of topics including biodiversity and ecosystems management in the context of the partnership-building between UNEP and the EU institutions, and key EU stakeholders in Brussels. He is also the coordinator of the global Ad Hoc Open-ended Expert Group on marine litter and microplastics. In addition, he coordinates the Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management sub-programme at UN Environment Regional Office for Europe, and is the focal point for the Secretariat of the Pan-European Biodiversity Platform, strengthening biodiversity in relation to the 2030 sustainable development.
